Each of these patterns lists (white) batiste as the recommended fabric, but of course, you can substitute any lightweight fabric that is suitable for summer outfits. If you want a durable batiste, that will retain it's beauty after repeated washings, we recommend Bearissima Swiss Batiste.
These are quick and easy to sew and they don't take much fabric. For example (45 wide), 1 yd for the Play Top, 1/2 yd for the bloomers and 1/2 for the Sun Hat. One yd for the bishop dress up to size 3 months or 1-1/3 yards for up to 24 months. The Bearissima is a generous 55 inches wide so you have plenty of fabric to work with, plus there's usually some leftover for accessories!
