These gorgeous Swiss eyelet heirloom bonnets are easy to sew and are great projects for your unusual Swiss trims.

Laces can also be used. If you prefer, you can match the trims used in a baby gown. These bonnet patterns are also perfect for using leftovers or scraps from other projects!

The back has an open casing, which serves as a growth allowance. A great pattern for a quick baby gift!

Sizes: Newborn, 2 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 18 months and 24 months

FABRIC SUGGESTIONS:

100% cotton fabrics, such as Swiss batiste, pima batiste, pima broadcloth

LACE AND TRIMS:

Fine cotton Swiss trims, fine laces, pieces from antique garments, leftovers from other projects, silk satin ribbon

YARDAGE SUGGESTIONS:

These are liberal estimates. Exact measurement of pattern piece may result in the purchase of less yardage.

45" wide fabric: 1/3 yard

Trim for bonnet band: 1/4 - 1/3 yard per strip (depends on width of edging used on the front of the bonnet)

Trim for front of bonnet: 1/2 yard per row

Trim for sides of bonnet: 1/2 yard

5/8" wide double-faced satin ribbon: 1 1/8 yard
