Lace Measurements

Width measurements of French lace are usually approximate. Where one person might describe a particular lace as measuring 1/4" wide another might describe the same lace as being 3/8" wide. The actual measurement could be in between those 2.

In Europe, where the lace is manufactured they are on the metric system. If we used the metric system we could give you a more exact lace width measurement. But since we are more comfortable using the old ways we will continue to give you the measurements of the lace using inches and fraction of an inch.

Do keep that in mind when you are shopping for lace.

Choosing Lace

It is quite all right to mix and match lace patterns. It is done all the time today and has been done for many, many years.

So, when choosing lace, pick what you like and don't be afraid to mix lace patterns or styles.
